Field Employee of the Year Award ($1000)
Description
Do you know someone that is a skilled and dedicated worker, an outstanding leader on the job site and a huge safety advocate? Then that person could be our next Field Employee of the Year. Your nominee will be that special person that seems to be able to do it all and make it look easy. They work hard to make sure their skill level is always increasing, and they are experts in building that sense of teamwork. Sounds like superman, right! Well, that's our next Field Employee of the Year!
Requirements
Nominee must be:
- employed by a MERIT Saskatchewan general or association member
- employed in a field role
Office Employee of the Year Award ($1000)
Description
To qualify for the Office Employee of the Year award, the individual may be employed in any capacity in the office, from administration or finance to estimating and project management. Nominees in this category will be those over-achievers that have an exceptional level of skills and abilities. They are natural leaders in both the workplace and the community, and they are always looking for ways to learn more and do better.

- employed in an office role
Safety Champion of the Year Award ($1000)
Description
Safety is as critical to a successful project as materials or labor. While the vast majority of people always make safety a priority when they are working, we all know those people that take work site safety to a new level. That individual isn't always employed as a “Safety Officer”, but they are completely dedicated to ensuring everyone returns home at the end of the day. The successful nominee will not only have an exemplary safety record, they will have a history of improving their knowledge of work site safety and of encouraging others to work safely every day. It's their goal to always make work a safer place for everyone.
Requirements
Nominee must be employed by a MERIT Saskatchewan member or MERIT Saskatchewan associate member.
Leadership and Mentoring Award ($500)
Description
If you've been lucky enough to work with that special person that took you “under their wing” then why not show your appreciation by nominating them for the Leadership and Mentoring Award. Field employees and office employees both qualify for this category. Nominations will be scored based on the impact the mentor has made on you and others in the workplace. The more you can tell us about the mentor, the better, so feel free to include letters of reference or anything else you think will help our judges do their job.

Outstanding Apprentice Award ($500)
Description
For many companies in the construction industry, apprentices fill a valuable role. For this category, we are looking for an outstanding individual enrolled in any apprenticeship program who has shown his or her desire to make their chosen trade a career. The successful nominee is will one that is highly skilled in their trade, has an enduring desire to learn, and makes safety a priority on the work site.

- registered apprentice
Iron Man Award ($500)
Description
Do you know someone who constantly has the answers you are looking for, knows who to call and everyone turns to? They are grand poobah on site or in the office. The best of the best. They fear nothing and never back down from a challenge. If you're thinking “ I know someone just like that”, then nominate this exceptional individual for the Iron Man Award.

Outstanding Site Supervisor Award ($500)
Description
A site supervisor is the important point of connection between the field staff working on site and the project managers or project owners. Their ability to manage people AND worksites makes them invaluable to any construction project. An outstanding site supervisor is someone that has excellent trade skills, but is equally capable in managing people. They're able to juggle a schedule to make sure things get done on time, and never lose their focus on site safety. Increasing their knowledge is an ongoing priority, and their ability to communicate effectively with everyone on the project sets them apart from the average Joe.

Rising Star Award ($500)
Description
It's all about the POTENTIAL…. The Rising Star award is intended to recognize an emerging young leader who reflects ongoing and exceptional growth in their construction career. This person has likely seen increased levels of leadership and responsibility in a relatively short period of time and their dedication to their role is unmatched. Nominees haven't yet reached a senior-level position, but their record so far puts them on the fast track to career success.

- 35 years of age or younger
MERIT Employer of the Year Award
Description
The MERIT Employer of the Year is that extraordinary company that builds their employees through a positive workplace, training and support. They have a first class safety program and their quality of work is top notch. In addition, the focus on building a diverse and inclusive workplace to benefit everyone. Overall, the Employer of the Year is an industry standout and is highly regarded by both their employees and other contractors.
